MODES OF OPERATION
Single chip 4-channel DS-3/E3/J2 framer and ATM/bit-HDLC mapper into POS-PHY/Utopia interface. Each channel can be individually configured for the desired rate and data format.Provides synchronization and desynchronization of DS-3 and E3 serial streams to and from SONET/SDH payloads.Implements ATM or byte-HDLC User Network Interface on SONET/SDH payloads including STS-1/STM-0/STS-3c/STM-1 into POS-PHY/Utopia interface.May be configured solely as a DS-3, E3 (G.751 and G.832), and J2 framer.Allows external sub-rate DS-3/E3/J2 processing for all four channels.
