WinPath2-Lite, the packet processor from PMC-Sierra, offers a complete solution to protocol handling in the access infrastructure equipment market. WinPath2-Lite supports Internet Protocol (IP) and Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) in the transport network, and performs termination, routing, interworking, and switching between input streams at wire speeds of up to 2 Gbps. WinPath2-Lite is reconfigurable in software to meet the demands of a dynamic equipment market, as well as to comply with emerging standards from organizations like the IETF and 3GPP. WinPath2-Lite is a product supported by:

The PMC-Sierra environment eases the job of designing and improving new equipment. It provides core functions in an intuitive and easily modified package. The WinPath2-Lite targets a number of application areas, including xDSL line cards and pizza boxes, WiMAX and UMTS PicoBTS designs, xPON Multi Dwelling/Multi Tenant Units, voiceover- packet media gateways, wireless infrastructure base stations, radio network controllers, and wireless media gateways such as multi-service concentrators/switches, IP service switches, metropolitan access nodes and optical access devices. The device supports IP and ATM in the transport layers at speeds up to dual Gigabit Ethernet and OC-12 / STM-4 rates. Configurable TDI interfaces provide sub-45 Mbps interfaces, including E1/T1/J1.
