Product Overview
The PAS65xx family is an EPON Optical Network Unit (ONU) System-on-a-Chip (SoC) device family, dedicated for use in an Ethernet Passive Optical Network (IEEE 802.3ah EPON). The PAS65xx devices are optimized for building EPON ONU in a Single Family Unit (SFU), a Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU), or similar configuration. The PAS65xx device family integrates the EPON SERDES and CDR, Optical Analog Front End (OAFE) (PAS651x only), EPON and Ethernet Media Access Control (MAC), EPON protocol management, an advanced classification and packet processing engine and traffic manager, a powerful embedded ARM926 CPU, a dedicated DSP for four channel VoIP processing (PAS65x2 only), and Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) user interfaces. The device also supports Time of Day (ToD) and Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) time synchronization for cellular backhaul applications, and Power Save modes for reduced power consumption. PAS65xx is provided with an integrated software package, Application Program Interface (API) and application suite providing a complete ONU solution.
