Product Overview
The PAS6300 is a Gigabit Ethernet Optical Network Unit (ONU) system on a chip dedicated for use in an Ethernet Passive Optical Network (IEEE 802.3ah EPON). The PAS6300 is designed to support EPON ONU applications of up to four Ethernet ports. The PAS6300 supports both Triple Churning and AES modes of encryption. For MDU applications, including over four Ethernet ports in the ONU, VoIP attached applications and ONUs requiring Linux or a host MII interface, the PAS6301 ONU device is recommended.
Benefits
- Full IEEE 802.3ah EPON ONU functionality
- Support for CTC EPON technical requirements
- Advanced classification engine with support for VLAN, IP, TCP & UDP to provide true "triple-play" services
- Glueless interface to on-board limiting amplifier and laser diode driver providing an easy maintenance cost effective solution
- Cost effective SDRAM based packet buffer with eight queue priorities and up to 8 MB of bursty traffic protection
Advanced Rate Limiter - Can be operated in both upstream and downstream
- Can be configured to operate per priority queue, per the whole ONU, or per VID
- Has an additional mode for upstream enabling the rate limitation of multicast and broadcast frames separately
- Integrated SERDES for EPON transceiver connection
- Flexible optical transceiver interface for support of multiple vendors
- Integrated encryption for enhanced security and privacy based on AES and Triple Churning
- Advanced ONU (unified) and queue level reporting mechanism
- WRR, SP, and WRR+SP scheduling
- Support Service level guarantee, best-effort, and fixed bandwidth enforcement
- Upstream and Downstream per queue and per ONU shaping
