Product Overview

The PAS9xxx device family is 10G-EPON Optical Network Unit (ONU) System-on-a-Chip (SoC) device family, dedicated for use in a 10-Gbit/s Ethernet Passive Optical Network (IEEE 802.3av 10G-EPON). The PAS9xxx devices are optimized for building a high-performance, low-power and low-cost 10G-EPON ONU in a Single Family Unit (SFU), a Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU), or similar configurations. The PAS9xxx device family integrates the 10G-EPON SERDES and CDR, 10G-EPON Media Access Control (MAC), 10G-EPON protocol management, an advanced classification and packet processing engine, a powerful embedded ARM926 CPU and a variety of Ethernet user interfaces. The device also supports Time of Day (ToD) and synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) time Synchronization for cellular backhaul applications, and Power Save modes for reduced power consumption. The PAS9xxx devices are provided with an integrated software package, Application Program Interface (API), and application suite providing a complete ONU solution.
