Division at PMC-Sierra
WHAT
TO EXPECT
In examining today's IP network, SONET/SDH still plays
an important role as carriers continue to deploy next-generation
metro transport networks.
This
webinar will look at the fundamentals of SONET/SDH technology.
What is SONET/SDH? How is it different than previous
technologies? Why was it developed?
This
webinar will also:
|
|
examine
the essentials such as the frame structure and pointers
and their uses |
|
|
discuss
the benefits of SONET/SDH technology |
|
|
review the network elements and topology where SONET/SDH
is utilized |
Join
in a live Q&A after.

"Merchant silicon eases MSPP development"
By:
Pierre Vaillancourt, Senior Product Marketing Engineer, Service
Provider Division at PMC-Sierra
Once
limited to the transport of voice traffic over long distances,
SONET/SDH networks now play an expanded role in today's service-provider
networks. SONET/SDH networks now combine voice, video, and
data services over a single robust transport mechanism as
they evolve to provide increased bandwidth, flexibility, manageability,
and efficiency.
