You can help yourself and others stay safe by reporting people who send spam, try to sell counterfeit goods, or otherwise abuse laws. If you have information that may be helpful in identifying scammers, please contact us.

Who to notify about fraud or scam attempts
Several organizations may help consumers report and resolve complaints: The Better Business Bureau and the National Consumers League both offer useful information. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) handles complaints about deceptive or unfair business practices. To file a complaint with the FTC, visit: www.ftc.gov/ftc/contact.shtm

Examples of Scams

  • External party impersonates an Adaptec or PMC employee using an email address resembling an actual PMC or Adaptec address to scam people out of a cash deposit for renting a house.
  • External party posts a "work from home" job offer on craigslist, Indeed.com, snagajob.com or another job site and requests that the victim submit payment for equipment deposits.
